Pleasantville's Hope's Door To Host Fall Luncheon

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The Pleasantville-based non-profit Hope's Door is set to host its Annual Fall Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 11.

The luncheon is scheduled for the Renaissance Westchester Hotel to coincide with National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, according to a press release.

The luncheon will carry the theme Broadway Matinee as Hope's Door plans to “shine a spotlight” on domestic violence while bringing together the “glitz and glamour” of Broadway, according to the press release.

Tony-nominated and Emmy Award-winning Actress Liz Calloway, Conductor and Musical Director Susan Anderson, and family attorney and advocate Alayne Katz are scheduled as the speakers at the event, according to the release.

“Our aim for this luncheon is to provide information about the many domestic issues facing our community today, while also celebrating our survivors’ stories by having fun,” said Jean Marie Connolly, Co-Chair of the Luncheon Committee and member of Hope’s Door’s Board of Directors, in the press release.

As an extension of the Broadway Matinee theme, Hope's Door will host a silent auction to offer tickets to see Cinderella, Newsies, and Mamma Mia, according to the release.

"We do not want to lose sight of the ‘fun’ in fundraising, so our luncheon will be up-beat and exciting, full of great entertainment and wonderful prizes,” said Anne Ring, Hope’s Door Advisory Board member and Luncheon Co-Chair, in the release. “Money raised from this luncheon will fund the vital programs that start the healing process for the women and children we serve and help them rebuild their lives."

The sponsors of the luncheon include BNY Mellon Wealth Management, CW Brown Inc., and First Niagara at the Mezzanine level; Balcony Sponsors Maier Markey & Justice LLP, Lee Manning Vogelstein, McLaughlin & Stern, Wells Fargo and Abby Woodworth, according to the release.
