Pleasantville's Breaking Ground Dance Center Joins National Affiliation

PLEASANTIVLLE, N.Y. -- Breaking Ground Dance Center has recently joined the select group of dance studios that are a part of the national affiliation, More Than Just Great Dancing, bringing the already stellar level of dance education to new heights.

Breaking Ground Dance Center will be part of the More Than Just Great Dancing Network.

The affiliation offers support to studio owners and helps guide them on best practices for teacher training, business matters, and programming. The national network also gives the studio access to new ideas, raising the bar for dance education.

“It is a great way to elevate our dancers and families’ experience at the school,” said studio owner Marissa Salemi-Giaccobe.

Salemi-Giaccobe founded Breaking Ground Dance Center in 2005 in order to create a positive environment where the first-time dancer, the recreational dancer, and the pre-professional dancer can all learn under one roof. The studio was awarded “Favorite Studio for Tween’s” by INTown Magazine, “Best Dance School of Pleasantville” for 2013 and 2014, and “Excellence in Small Business” by 914INC-Westchester Magazine.

Breaking Ground is the only dance studio in the area that offers the unique benefits that come with the national affiliation. Because of More Than Just Great Dancing, the studio has recently started a chapter of the National Dance Honor Society — also the only one in the area —through which high school students can be honored for both their academic and dance achievements. More programming as a result of the affiliation will soon follow.
