  • Pleasantville Superintendent of Schools Mary Fox-Alter represented the Lower Hudson Council of School Superintendents at a hearing by the New York State Assembly last week on the State Education Department's plans for an Internet student performance database managed by inBloom, a private vendor.  
  • A 1-year-old girl died as the result of a car crash on the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers that occurred at 11:25 a.m. Nov. 26 officials said.  
  • The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Westchester County from midnight Tuesday through Wednesday afternoon, just as many Thanksgiving travelers hit the road and airports on the busiest travel day of the year.  
  • Popular Westchester County radio personality Caroline Corley died suddenly Nov. 25. Corley was a longtime host of 107.1 FM "The Peak's" morning drive show from 6-10 a.m.
