PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Empowering teens to start off life on the right foot is what the Safe Teens Real Opportunities New Goals Coalition is all about.
Currently, the STRONG organization is looking to hire a coordinator for its coalition steering committee.
The community-based coalition works with law enforcement, the city, schools, businesses, health care organizations and faith-based groups to make a positive impact on the area's youth.
The mission of STRONG is to empower teens by coordinating services and opportunities available to them through prevention initiatives, including suicide, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
The Coalition Coordinator will be responsible for managing and facilitating the coordination, implementation, reporting, planning, organizing, outreach, data collection, assessment and evaluation of the Coalition’s activities.
The coordinator's average workweek would run 14 hours with a salary of $20,000. In addition to the above work description, the coordinator would also be required to meet regularly with the Coalition to review goals and attend a mandatory Coalition Academy training (three weeks) and CADCA training in Washington D.C. Other requirements include a minimum two years of experience working in a community and building collaboration and a Bachelor's degree. Preference may be given to candidates who possess alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention knowledge.
