Pleasantville Remains in State of Emergency

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pleasantville Police Department said Pleasantville was still in a state of emergency Sunday afternoon and will remain so until revoked by Mayor Peter Scherer.

Though Irene was downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm Sunday, many areas of Pleasantville were damaged with floods and fallen trees.

According to the Pleasantville Police Department, multiple local roads in the village remain closed to transportation. These areas include Broadway, Pleasant Avenue and Manville Road.

In addition to these local closings, the Westchester County Police Department has announced that the Bronx River and Hutchinson River parkways are closed in addition to partial closings on the Saw Mill River Parkway and the Taconic State Parkway.
