PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – A Dobbs Ferry organization that educates and pairs service dogs with veterans, autistic children and at-risk youth has been named this year's charitable partner of the Pleasantville Music Festival.

ECAD, or Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities , was founded in 1995. It has since raised and placed more than 200 service dogs with people who have "both visable and invisible disabilities." ECAD operates training schools throughout Westchester County.

"We look forward to hearing great music at the all-day event and having the opportunity of meeting new people who can learn what we do by seeing several of our service dogs assisting their person," co-founder and Executive Director Dale Picard said.

ECAD plans to bring several veterans who have graduated from the group's Project HEAL program, which helps those with post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. The group will also present its "Smooch A Pooch" booth, where festival-goers can get their photo taken with two month-old puppies.

The Pleasantville Music Festival takes place from noon to 8:30 p.m. on July 13 at Parkway Field in Pleasantville. The annual festival is co-sponsored by 107.1 FM The Peak and supports one charitable partner each year.

Tickets are being sold online or at several Pleasantville businesses .
