Thomas Dorr, 50 and a volunteer with the Pleasantville Fire Department, was feeding wild turkeys in the park during a blizzard on Jan. 7, 1996 with his wife, Jane Sawyer Dorr, and stepson, Jeffrey Door. His wife and stepson returned home, and Dorr remained in the park.

Dorr's body was found on Jan. 8 in two feet of snow not far from his home. His body was found slashed and brutally beaten in the snow.

Dorr had been a member of the PFD since 1979. He was also an employee of the White Plains Water Department.

No arrests have been made in the case. Jane Sawyer Dorr and Jeffrey Dorr have been mentioned as suspects in the case. Jane Sawyer said in 1996 she gave a full statement to police.
