Pleasantville Celebrates Memorial Day With Parade

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. — Pleasantville's annual Memorial Day parade took center stage Monday as hundreds of police officers, elected officials, military veterans and other community members lined up to make their way through the village.

Ceremonies began at 10 a.m. at the World War I monument in front of Bedford Road School. After military veterans fired their rifles into the air, the parade then marched to Memorial Plaza, where ceremonies were conducted at the World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War monuments.

The parade was accompanied by the Pleasantville High School band, the Pleasantville Fire Department band and the Pleasantville High School girl's a capella singing group.
