Pleasantville Addresses Dangers Of College Drinking With 'Haze' Screening

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Community coalition Pleasantville Strong screened the 2008 documentary 'Haze' on Sept. 16 at the Jacob Burns Film Center as its first event of the school year, reported the Examiner News.

The documentary focuses on the dangers of college drinking by highlighting cases where students died from binging on alcohol, including the 2004 death of Lynn Gordon Bailey at the University of Colorado.

After the screening, a panel of local officials held a question and answer discussion with the audience, according to the Examiner News.

Pleasantville Strong is a coalition between the school district, village and police aimed at reducing underage drinking and drug use by local youths.
