Person Hit, Killed By Train At Hartsdale Metro-North Station

HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- A person was struck and killed by a southbound train near the platform of the Hartsdale Metro-North Station at Pipeline and Fenimore roads Wednesday afternoon, Greenburgh Police said.

The gender of the unidentified person has not been reported.

Metro-North Police are investigating the fatality, Greenburgh Police Chief Chris McNerney said in a statement. 

The incident occurred at 4 p.m., McNerney said. The investigation is expected to continue for several hours, he said.

The train was not carrying any passengers at the time of the incident, according to lohud.com.

As of 6:10 p.m., Harlem Line northbound train service was experiencing delays of up 20 minutes and southbound delays of up to 40 minutes.
