Pace Women Suffer First Loss at St. Rose

Brittany Shields finished with 23 points for Pace but the Setters fell for first time this season in a 75-64 Northeast-10 Conference game at  St. Rose in Albany.

The Setters fell to 5-1 and 4-1 in the NE-10, while the Golden Knights improve to 6-1 and 4-1 in conference play.

The Golden Knights jumped out to an early 12-4 lead but the Setters answered with nine straight points to take a 13-12 lead. Saint Rose would retake the lead and pull ahead 26-19, eventually taking a 41-26 lead into halftime.

For Pace, Shields led all scorers and grabbed eight rebounds. Carol Johnson added 18 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Setters

Pace is back in action on Tuesday, hosting Adelphi University in a Northeast-10 Conference game at 5:30 p.m. at the Goldstein Fitness Center.
