One person was killed and three others injured after a car lost control coming down a hill in Northern Westchester, slamming into a parked car that that then struck four pedestrians late Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Hudson Avenue and Washington Street in Peekskill, where just moments earlier a state trooper had pulled over another vehicle at the scene of the crash.

The injured parties, reportedly including a young child, were rushed to the Westchester Medical Center, where two remain in critical condition. The person killed was an unidentified 70-year-old woman who died en route to the hospital.

Sections of both streets remained closed for hours after the crash as police investigated the incident. It is unclear if speed was a factor.
