Combs' son Justin, an Iona Prep graduate, is a junior at UCLA and plays defensive back for the football team.

The hip hop mogul allegedly brandished a kettlebell while confronting a member of the school's athletic training staff, school officials said.

“I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation. This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved," UCLA head football coach Jim Mora Jr. said in a statement. "While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”

Combs was taken to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Inmate Reception Center where he was charged with  three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery. He was released later on Monday, officials said.
