More than 500 people participated in a march in support of the immigrant community in downtown Mount Kisco.

The marchers took off from the parking lot behind Bow-Tie Cinemas movie theater on Main Street. It ended with a rally at Village Hall where a variety of speakers addressed the crowd including Neighbors Link Executive Director, Carola Bracco, representatives from local government, law enforcement and clergy.

"It was a very successful event," said Margie Orell, who helped organize the march. "People were able to identify with them as people and not just the word 'immigrant.' We want to support immigrants, this is their country too."

Orell said a meeting is being scheduled to plan follow-ups to the march.
