HAWTHORNE, N.Y. -- The Metro-North station in Hawthorne reopened early Sunday afternoon after a fire was controlled at the Con Ed substation on Commerce Street in the morning, resulting in its temporary closure.

Firefighters from multiple municipalities used foam lines to battle the blaze. A Hazmat team was also on the scene.

Metro-North Harlem Line Service had been suspended between Mount Kisco and North White Plains as a result of the fire.

The fire was reported at 9:45 a.m.
