- John Nonna, a long time resident and former Pleasantville mayor, turned 66. Nonna, a fencer who competed in the individual and team foil events at the 1972 Summer Olympics, later became an attorney specializing in insurance law, mayor of Pleasantville and a member of the Westchester County Board of Legislators, was born July 8, 1948 .
- Four Westchester County residents were named to the Dean's List for the spring 2014 semester at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I .
- Port Chester is the lone Westchester representative named among the top 10 exciting places to live in New York, according to a report by Movoto .
- A truck that rolled onto train tracks and caught fire led to a disruption in Metro-North train traffic, an MTA spokeswoman confirmed .
