Entergy Awards Friends of Karen $15,000 Grant

PURDYS, N.Y. – For the fifth year in a row, the Entergy Corp., suppliers of electrical, nuclear and thermal power, has made a significant contribution to Friends of Karen.

This year’s grant of $15,000 is in recognition and support of the efforts that Friends of Karen makes to assist the families of critically ill children.

Friends of Karen is the only organization in the country that is focused on aiding the threatened families emotionally, financially and with advocacy, from the early diagnosis of a critical illness through the treatment stages. Since its founding in 1978, Friends of Karen has reached out with compassion and expertise to nearly 12,000 children and their families.

Friends of Karen is based in Purdys, with offices in Manhattan and Port Jefferson, N.Y. The organization serves families throughout the tri-state area, regardless of race, religion or national origin.
