  • Police around Eastchester and Scarsdale made several arrests of intoxicated drivers in the area.  over the Thanksgiving weekend. The Bronxville Police Department concentrated patrols in select parts of the village specifically looking for drunken drivers, according to Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale.
  • Nero, the Newfoundland that saved his family from a Nov. 24 fire that destroyed their Yorktown home, was found dead this morning.
  • The Metro-North train that derailed Sunday morning in the Bronx was traveling at 82 miles per hour when it went through a curve,  National Transportation Safety Board member Earl Weener said at a press conference Monday afternoon at the Hampton Inn in Yonkers. Four people were killed.
