Domestic Violence Services Comes To Northern Westchester

SOMERS, N.Y. -- The Town of Somers is teaming up with other Northern Westchester communities to help victims of domestic violence.

The Somers Town Board unanimously approved spending $500,000 a year on a facility for victims of domestic violence.

The Somers Town Board voted unanimously to spend $5,000 a year for a facility for victims of domestic service. Pound Ridge, North Salem, Lewisboro, and Bedford are also part of the initiative which was approved at the Sept. 7 meeting.

The state Office of Prevention of Domestic Violence recently awarded the Westchester County Office For Women a $200,000 Risk Reduction Enhanced Response grant to cover two years of funding for the facility.
