The crossing is scheduled to be closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 31 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, according to the DOT.
The latest renovation will include a replacement of a concrete approach on the eastern side of the crossing. There will also be structural work in connection with the replacement, which is meant to help with drainage, the DOT added.
Other work for the area, which is flood prone, will include deepening ditches and clearing culverts, the DOT announced.
Closures planned will affect the Saw Mill River Parkway's entrance and exit ramps, the DOT added.
The Roaring Brook Road crossing has garnered scrutiny since February's deadly train collision with a vehicle in Valhalla. New Castle Supervisor Rob Greenstein, in particular, has repeatedly highlighted the nature of the crossing, which is at the Saw Mill River Parkway's interchange and in close proximity to Horace Greeley High School.
New pavement was added at the intersection this spring, along with new safety markings.
Several electronic signs near the crossing were on display Wednesday, which announced the closure dates.
