Laelcira DeLima, 53, was last seen around 5 p.m. Oct. 20 when she told her two children, ages 15 and 10, that she loved them and was going to a local Walmart to pick up a prescription, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Chris Carroccio.

Since that time Danbury police have interviewed more than 30 people, chased down numerous leads, and have flown a helicopter over the surrounding wooded areas in hopes of finding the missing woman, Caroccio said.

They have even been in contact with the Brazilian consulate, where the missing woman is from and still has family members, but she has not contacted them or entered the country, he added.

Her car, a red 2016 Honda Accord with Connecticut license plates of AC98150, was picked-up by Danbury police after being spotted by the New York State police, he said.

The car was processed by crime scene technicians, but nothing indicating foul play was found, Caroccio said.

Officers are currently reviewing surrounding video surveillance footage in hopes of either spotting DeLima or see who may have dropped off the car, he added.

"At this time there is no clear indication of foul play," he said. "But we don't know for sure."

DeLima, 53, was last seen wearing a black v-neck shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone who may have seen DeLima or has information about her or her possible whereabouts is asked to contact the Danbury Police Department 203-797-4611.
