Bill Passed By Assembly To Create Single-Payer Health Plan

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A bill creating a single-payer health system in the state of New York was approved by the state Assembly on May 27, according to timesunion.com.

The proposal had been introduced annually by Assemblyman Richard Gottfried, (D-Manhattan) chair of the Health Committee, since 1992, but this is the first time it came up for a vote, and it passed 89-47, reported timesunion.com.
