Friday, June 1
Assembly member visits Pleasantville High School: 9:30-10:15 a.m. Assembly member Thomas Abinanti will be discussing hydrofracking with an environmental science class at the high school.
Fire Department Parade: 7 p.m. The annual parade begins on Bedford Road, continues to Memorial Plaza, Manville Road, Grove Street, Edgewood Avenue and ends on Washington Avenue.
Saturday, June 2
Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Pleasantville Farmers' Market returns to Memorial Plaza and will remain open every Saturday until Dec. 15. Returning vendors include Wiltbank Farm, Bobolink Dairy , Trotta Pasta, Benmarl Winery , Newgate Farms, Pickle Licious , Pikas Farm Table , Go-Go Pops , Mead Orchards , Pura-Vida Fisheries, Tierra Farm , Kiernan Farm , Little Seed Gardens , Cowberry Crossing Farm , Bombay Emerald Chutney Company , Calcutta Kitchens , Amazing Real Live/Chaseholm Creamery , Kontoulis Family Olive Oil , Feather Ridge Farm , J & A Farm , Bialas Farms , Dutch Desserts , Bread Alone , Alpacatrax , Thornwood Farm, and Merediths Bread . Pleasantville Girl Scouts Awards : 6 p.m. The Court of Awards is a community ceremony that commemorates accomplishments of Pleasantville Girl Scouts at all levels. Twelve first-grade Daisies will be bridging to Brownies, nine girls will be receiving the Bronze Award, 15 girls will be receiving the Silver Award and 10 girls will be receiving the Gold Award. County Legislator Michael Smith, Mayor Peter Scherer, and the former President of Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Anna May Wiede all are scheduled to attend. 2012 marks the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouts.
