MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. Shortly after rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West released a song dedicated to the memory of his son DJ, Dan Henry released a YouTube video thanking the rappers and claimed evidence tampering by Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore.
In the video, Henry claimed evidence that has been withheld from him and his family by the district attorney's office, in particular surveillance videos that may have captured his son DJ being shot and killed by Pleasantville Police Officer Aaron Hess.
"The district attorney's office, told us that there are surveillance videos and 911 audio but she refuses to share them with anybody, so we have to speculate about what we think is on those tapes if she's being so protective of them," Henry said in the video.
Henry also says that DJ's car was tampered with, calls were placed on his cell phone after his death, and claims that alcohol was placed in DJ's digestive system.
"Why did they put it there? Because they're trying to make DJ at fault here," Henry said.
Autopsy reports showed that the Pace University student, 20, was intoxicated at the time of the tragedy, though his parents refute that claim and say that their son was not under the influence.
The Westchester County District Attorney's Office had no comment on the matter and Mount Pleasant Police Chief Louis Alagno said it was town and department policy to not comment while there is a pending lawsuit.
Jay-Z and Kanye West recently released their song "Murder to Excellence" off their album Watch the Throne. In the beginning of the song, Jay-Z dedicates it to the memory of Danroy "DJ" Henry. No direct references are made in the song to DJ's killing, but the song depicts gun violence and crimes.
