THORNWOOD, N.Y. - In observance of the Christmas holiday, many businesses and municipal buildings around Mount Pleasant will adjust their schedules on Monday and Tuesday.
Mount Pleasant Town Hall will be open on Monday, but will close by 1 p.m. and will be closed Christmas Day. The Pleasantville Village Hall will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. Both will reopen during normal business hours on Wednesday. The Police Department headquarters in the respective buildings will remain open both days.
All schools in the Mount Pleasant Central School District, Pleasantville Union Free School District and Valhalla Union Free School District will be closed until after the New Year and will reopen on Jan. 2.
Post offices in Valhalla, Hawthorne, Thornwood and Pleasantville will be open on Monday during normal hours, but closed on Tuesday.
For those looking for public WiFi, the Mount Pleasant Public Library in Pleasantville as will its branch in Valhalla will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. Starbucks in Pleasantville will also be closed on Monday and Tuesday.
For residents looking to do some last minute shopping, Try and Buy toy shop in Pleasantville will be open on Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be closed on Christmas. The A&P in Thornwood will be open Monday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Christmas from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The ShopRite in Thornwood will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday and closed Tuesday for Christmas.
Both the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville and the Saw Mill Multiplex in Hawthorne will be open on Monday and Tuesday for those wishing to see a movie. A film schedule for the Jacob Burns Film Center can be found here, and here for the Saw Mill Multiplex.
