In order to improve the quality of life for patients suffering with respiratory illness, Northern Westchester Hospital has created a Pulmonary Rehabilitation center to improve lung function and further patient education.

Once a pulmonary disorder is diagnosed by doctors, patients have several treatment options to chose from. In most cases, they will be entered into a 12 week training program involving exercise on either a treadmill or stationary bike. Current smokers are also encouraged to enter a cessation program to help kick their habit.
