The program covers all of Rockland County and was spearheaded by leaders in the communities of Nyack, Orangetown and Clarkstown. Originally scheduled to end June 30, the program was extended another month by the Solarize team due to increased demand.

Solarize Nyack Plus uses a discounted pricing structure and town-supported outreach and education to make solar electric systems more affordable to owners of homes and commercial properties.

Both residents and business owners can sign up for a free solar assessment by Aug. 1 to be eligible to take advantage of group rates that are below market prices.

Sunrise Solar Solutions was selected as a designated solar residential and commercial installer for the program.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Solarize Nyack Plus to provide top-quality solar installations at the very best prices to Rockland County homeowners and businesses,” said Sunrise Solar Solutions President Douglas Hertz. “This extension gives Rockland businesses and homeowners more time to learn about the countless benefits of going solar – the seamless process, zero up-front costs, low or no energy bills, etc."

“I enjoy seeing people’s faces when they understand that the combined incentives, tax credits, low interest financing and the group purchase discounts, would make it possible for them to own or lease a solar electric system for their home," said Marcy Denker, the Sustainability Desk for the Village of Nyack.

“We know that home and business owners in the Orange and Rockland utility region are very interested to know what this community-sponsored, state-supported non-profit program has to offer,” said John Wackman, Program Manager for Solarize Hudson Valley.
