Ben Glotzer said he and his daughter crossed paths with a bobcat on Millers Mill Road just after they drove over the bridge.

"It was about 3 feet in length approximately 60 pounds," Glotzer said, saying the bobcat had a grayish fawn color.

The Millers Mill Road Bridge crosses Mianus River Gorge.

Bobcat sightings in the Northern Westchester area, and much of the Hudson Valley, are no longer rare occurrences.

"We just never expected this in our backyard," said Glotzer.
