The event, held Thursday, June 4, featured 30 kinds of burgers, from brie cheese, bacon jam and tuffle aioli to a Buffalo chicken burger with gorgonzola, minced garlic, hot sauce and celery to chorizo burgers, lobster sliders and pork belly with pickled kirby cucumber, scallion and local cherry hoisin.
There was also a wide variety of spirits, from Slovenia vodka from Yonkers' Chef Peter X. Kelly, wines from Scarsdale-based Zachy's, and beers from Elmsford's Captain Lawrence, along with Blue Moon, Hendrick's Gin and Tullamore Drew Irish whiskey.
Desserts were offered from Armonk's Beascake's Bakery and Chappaqua's Sherry B. Dessert Studio.
Proceeds from the event went to Friends of Westchester County Parks, the only organization dedicated exclusively to promoting and supporting Westchester County parks.
The Burger and Beer Blast is just one of many events taking place during Westchester Magazine's Fifth Annual Wine & Food Festival, going on now through Saturday.
