PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Here's what's happening at the Jacob Burns Film Center this week:
"Frances Ha," "Stories We Tell," and additional screenings of "Room 237" continue this week.
Our "Contemporary Arab Cinema" series kicks off tonight at 7:15 p.m. with "El Gusto" followed by a reception and live music performed by Zafer Tawil and a tarab ensemble. Other speaker events in the series: "Zero," with series curator Lina Matta and professor Habiba Boumlik on Saturday at 5 p.m.; "Arab Shorts Program" with Lina Matta and filmmaker Mona El-Naggar on Sunday at 2 p.m.
A screening of "The Night of Counting the Years," part of "Jonathan Demme's Rarely Seen Cinema," followed by a Q&A with filmmaker and host Jonathan Demme takes place on Sunday at 5 p.m.
Don't miss Erroll Garner: No One Can Hear You Read with The Konrad Paszkudzki Trio, featuring a live performance from The Konrad Paszkudzki Trio performing Errol Garner tunes, part of "Jazz Sessions," on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
