According to theexaminernews.com, the service will feature prayers, music and remarks from individuals affected by gun violence.

Senior minister the Rev. Martha Jacobs says that the program is to remember and honor victims of violence and not to encourage political speeches.

The event comes nearly three years after the massacre of 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Other Westchester vigils will be held at the Chatterton Hill Church United Church of Christ in White Plains and the Scarsdale Congregational Church.
