Volunteers gathered to paint faces and lead arts-and-crafts activities, as well as serve pizza and ice cream. The event was part of UJA-Federation’s Gift of Chanukah program, which allows the organization’s communities in Westchester to host parties with clients at a number of its beneficiary agencies. “Programs like this one not only give our communities the chance to give back, but allows them to see first-hand the kind of work we support,” said Amy Gutenplan, UJA-Federation’s chair of community and volunteer services in Westchester. “It’s especially important for the kids to see what they can make possible. After all, they are the next generation of philanthropists and volunteers.”

The Edenwald Center is supported by UJA-Federation and operated by the Jewish Child Care Association of New York.
