PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Following are some events that are offered at the Mount Pleasant Public Library in Pleasantville during February:
- Sign up for the library's new Cookbook Club led by local author Rinku Bhattacharya. It begins Monday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m. This month’s topic is Valentine’s Day food. Participants pick a recipe, prepare it and bring the prepared dish and cookbook to the meeting. Registration is required.
- Join Richard Knox for "The Golden Age of Radio and Television" on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. Knox will cover a wide range of popular radio and television shows from 1935-65, including classic comedy shows, variety shows, mysteries and Westerns, as well as famous personalities. Relive favorite shows through an interactive quiz on TV and radio theme songs.
- For music lovers, enjoy a live performance by singer-songwriter and storyteller Marc Berger on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. He will perform songs from his CD "Ride" and share stories of his experiences traveling in the American West. He has performed at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, and has opened shows for Bob Dylan and other national acts.
