The concert, put together by Kat Suda in honor of Harmon's struggles and determination -- the Pleasantville resident is a two-time breast cancer survivor -- will take place at Garcia's/The Cap on Monday, Nov. 3 and features The Last Internationale and Jukebox The Ghost. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show at 8 p.m.
Harmon says the concert "is an amazing 'gift' from my friends at The Peak, and I'm honored and touched by their commitment to the cause."
The mom of two, who teaches third grade in Tarrytown, first got the disease at age 32. She had a recurrence ten years later, all of which made her stronger and more determined to raise funds. For the past 16 years, she has raised awareness and money for the American Cancer Society "in honor and in thanks for all who have supported our family through both of my diagnoses."
Her goal is one million dollars and she is close -- at $80,000. It's her hope that the concert, which costs $15, will help her reach it.
Garcia's is located at 145 Westchester Ave., Port Chester, 937-4126; details here. Advanced ticket sales are advised. For more information on Harmon's team, go here.
