Library Exhibit In Pleasantville Features Japanese Calligraphy, Ikebana

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Japanese calligraphy and ikebana flower arrangements are on display now through June 2 in the Mount Pleasant Library’s gallery space at 350 Bedford Road, Pleasantville. 

The Mount Pleasant Public Library will feature Japanese calligraphy and ikebana flower arrangements through June 2.

Works by calligrapher Yoshiko Katsumi and her students are shown alongside Japanese flower arrangements by students of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. 

The public is invited to the opening reception for the artists Saturday 14, at 2 p.m. in the gallery.

On Saturday, May 21, at 11 a.m., Katsumi will conduct a free Japanese calligraphy workshop at the library. 

This exhibit and program are made possible by a partnership between Katsumi and the Mount Pleasant Library.
