Four films will be shown at the center Friday, Oct. 21, beginning at 9:30 p.m.

Don Coscarelli's "Phantasm" is among the films. Others will soon be announced. The event includes a costume contest, and activities are planned.

Also in October, there will be three screenings of "The Boxtrolls" for younger viewers on Saturday, Oct. 22, and Sunday, Oct. 23, at noon and Thursday, Oct. 27, at 3 p.m.

Set in the old English town of Cheesebridge, a clan of quirky, mischievous creatures called boxtrolls lives below the streets where they have lovingly raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs.

When the town’s boxtroll-catcher, Archibald Snatcher (Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley), captures Eggs’ guardian, he decides to venture aboveground, where he meets and teams up with a high-spirited girl named Winnifred.

Together, they devise a daring plan to save Eggs’ family. The film contains action, some peril and mild rude humor.

The film is recommended for ages 9 and older.
