Lyndhurst Heath Department Launches '#Challenge 2 Challenge'

LYNDHURST, N.J. -- The Lyndhurst Health Department, under the direction of Mayor Robert B. Giangeruso, is encouraging all Lyndhurst residents to spring into a healthier lifestyle and join #Challenge 2 Change.

This is an eight week wellness challenge supported by the Community Health Improvement Partnership (CHIP), which is administered by the Bergen County Department of Health Services. 

Residents from Southern Bergen County are invited to attend the Kick-Off event, hosted by the East Rutherford YMCA, beginning Sunday, March 13 from noon to 2 p.m. at the YMCA Program Center.

A walking club will be held every Tuesday evening, and the Inserra Shop-Rite of Lyndhurst will be offering free health lectures, store tours, food demonstrations, and more. There will also be weekly prize drawings as well as a grand prize for the participant who loses the highest percentage of weight during the challenge.

There is a registration fee of $15. A registration fee of $10is available to those who register before March 13. 

The challenge is scheduled to run through May 8. 

Registrants will receive a “Challenger Pack” that entitles them to a T-Shirt, 2 week pass to the YMCA, class demonstrations, water and fruit.
