Emmy-award winning actress Liz Callaway will be among the speakers at the annual fall luncheon for Hope's Door on Friday, Oct. 11.

The event will occur during National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

With the theme "Broadway Matinee," the charitable organization plans to “shine a spotlight” on domestic violence while bringing together the “glitz and glamour” of Broadway.

Tony-nominated and Emmy Award-winning actress Liz Callaway, Conductor and Musical Director Susan Anderson, and family attorney and advocate Alayne Katz will be the speakers at the event.

“Our aim for this luncheon is to provide information about the many domestic issues facing our community today, while also celebrating our survivors’ stories by having fun,” said Jean Marie Connolly, co-chair of the Luncheon Committee and member of Hope’s Door’s Board of Directors.

Alayne Katz, who will share her own personal story of domestic violence, is well-known throughout Westchester as a dedicated lawyer who represents clients in all areas of family law with sensitivity, integrity and skill. Katz was the recipient of the Westchester County Certificate of Distinguished Service in 2011 and the 2010 Above The Bar Award for the Most Socially Conscious Attorney.

Callaway has starred in numerous Broadway shows including "Baby," "Miss Saigon" and "Cats." Her vocals have also been featured in several acclaimed movie animations, including "Beauty and the Beast," "Lion King II," and as the title voice in the Oscar-nominated "Anastasia."

As a conductor and musical director, Susan Anderson has worked with the Broadway and national touring companies of "Pirates of Penzance," "Me and My Girl," and "Cats."

As an extension of the Broadway Matinee theme, a silent auction will offer tickets to see "Cinderella," "Newsies," and "Mamma Mia."

Other hot auction items include Knicks tickets, David Yurman jewelry from Wilson and Son Jewelers, restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia, accessories and tuition to Lighthouse Youth Theatre at Standing Ovations Studio in Armonk for a semester.

"We do not want to lose sight of the ‘fun’ in fundraising, so our luncheon will be up-beat and exciting, full of great entertainment and wonderful prizes,” said Anne Ring, Hope’s Door Advisory Board member and luncheon co-chair. “Money raised from this luncheon will fund the vital programs that start the healing process for the women and children we serve and help them rebuild their lives."

The sponsors of the luncheon include BNY Mellon Wealth Management, CW Brown Inc., and First Niagara at the Mezzanine level; Balcony Sponsors Maier Markey & Justice LLP, Lee Manning Vogelstein, McLaughlin & Stern, Wells Fargo, Abby Woodworth, Sponsorships and underwriting opportunities, as well as support of the auction are still available.
