PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The Emanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasantville will be sponsoring a blood drive in hopes of increasing the supply of blood products after the holidays on Saturday, Jan. 16.
During the holidays there is an increase in the need for blood due to stress-related emergencies and holiday-related activities like driving and accidents in the home. By the end of the holidays, reserve supplies of blood supply is low and could be catastrophic if there were to be a large-scale emergency or major storm.
Both whole blood and red cells units will be collected from qualifying candidates
The blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church located at 197 Manville Road, Pleasantville.
