Morganelli, an Ardsley resident, hopes to accomplish that goal with his new restaurant Trattoria 160 on Marble Avenue in Pleasantville. The restaurant opened last week to much fanfare.

“So far it's been absolutely wonderful,” Morganelli said, noting that they had a busy first weekend after the ribbon-cutting.

Trattoria 160 offers traditional Italian cuisine, such as homemade linguini, fresh seafood and more. The space includes a wine cellar, bar and catering room. Morganelli spent two months completely renovating the space.

“The ambiance has gone over very well and the food has too,” he said, noting that customers have been delighted with the restaurant's atmosphere. Morganelli has been in the Italian food business for more than 20 years.

“That's what I know,” he said. “That's what I've been doing for years and years.

This is Morganelli's first restaurant. He previously worked as a restaurant's general manager in New York City, but decided he wanted to be closer to home.

“It was always part of the plan,” he said, noting he was looking for an opportunity to start out on his own. “It was the right opportunity, the right timing, the right everything and here we are,” he said.

Trattoria 160 is open Tuesday through Thursday from noon to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
