The shopping center, owned by Kurtsam Realty Corp. in Croton and at Welcher Avenue in Peekskill, is getting a multi-million dollar capital improvement program that will see tenants like McDonald's and CVS get renovations.

McDonald's is getting a $1 million renovation, that will see the exterior and interior get modernized.

The first large-scale element of the program that will be completed is the major reconstruction of the free-standing McDonald’s, located at the southwest corner of the center. The nearly $1 million project encompasses both an exterior and interior modernization of the existing 3,200-square-foot restaurant.

“We are very excited about the redesign and modernization of our Peekskill restaurant,” said owner Carlos Wong. “This has always been an excellent location for us and we anticipate an increase in business as a result of the modernization.”

The new design will feature a contemporary exterior that trades the traditional red roof for soft shades of gray. The interior will be completely remodeled and include features like digital menu boards and touch-screen kiosks where customers can customize their orders and have them delivered to their table. The restaurant will also be launching a smartphone mobile app for ordering.

The CVS will expand from 3,600 square feet to 14,000 square feet. CVS will occupy the entire center's east building to offer a drive-through lane for prescription pickups. The expanded store will open next year.

Trustco Bank will be relocating to a new space and the building anchored by Green Grocer will be undergoing an interior renovation.

“When the entire project is complete we’ll have a state-of-the-art center that provides high-quality, easy-access shopping and services for the entire area," said Kurtsam Property Manager Fred Schwalb.
