NY Times Plans To Cut 100 Newsroom Jobs

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The New York Times announced on Wednesday it will eliminate 100 newsroom jobs through buyouts or layoffs.

A smaller number of positions will also be eliminated from the paper's editorial and business operations, The Times said. 

Officials at the paper said the workforce reduction was necessary in order to maintain the organization's long-term profitability.
