WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Linda Carrington spent most of her career working in community banks. When the opportunity presented itself to join The Westchester Bank, she jumped at the chance.

“It’s banking the way banking should be,’’ said Carrington, who joined TWB as the Branch Manager of the Mount Kisco office in October. “I’m happy to feel like I’m back at home. This is the right kind of bank for me.”

Carrington worked for another bank in Mount Kisco for 22 years, but it had been taken over by a larger, regional bank. Carrington wanted to return to a bank committed to the community and growth of local businesses.

“It reaffirms my faith in the industry,’’ she said. “In this day and age of what looks like a landscape of ever-growing impersonal banking, it’s nice that there’s still a niche for a community bank where service and relationships come first.”

Carrington is tightly connected to community activities as well, especially in Mount Kisco. She has been a member of the Mount Kisco Rotary since 1993, including recognition as a Paul Harris Fellow. The honor is given to individuals who contribute, or have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 or more to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

Last year, she chaired a project for the Rotary to collect winter coats for those in need which were donated to the Community Center of Northern Westchester. “A lot of the not-for-profits need that kind of support,’’ Carrington said. “The Rotary is very active in supporting those organizations.”

Carrington is also a board member of the Friends of Westchester Parks, which helps preserve and protect green space in the county. “It’s important throughout Westchester to have park spaces, for health and pleasure,’’ said Carrington, who enjoys visiting Rye Playland and the Kensico Reservoir in Valhalla, especially for the upcoming Winter Wonderland.

Most importantly, she enjoys being part of a real community bank once again. That has been her professional passion since she began her banking career and is thrilled to be part of The Westchester Bank, where a sense of community is shared by all of its employees.

“It really is banking made personal,’’ Carrington said, echoing the Bank’s slogan. “It’s not just about generating numbers. It’s about developing relationships and helping people succeed.”
