Beacon Eatery Voted Best New Hudson Valley Restaurant

BEACON, N.Y. -- Foodies were already flocking to the Kitchen Sink Food & Drink, a year-old farm-to-table restaurant in Beacon, but now that it's been voted Best New Restaurant by readers of "Hudson Valley Magazine" in its Annual Best of the Hudson Valley Reader’s Ballot, now the rest of the county will too.

“My team and I are committed to providing an excellent dining experience to our customers and we are thrilled that they’ve recognized our high-quality farm-to-table ingredients and our comfortable, homey vibe,” said Kitchen Sink Chef and owner Brian Arnoff.

Arnoff, 29, who was born and raised in Hyde Park always knew he wanted to return to his Dutchess County roots to open a restaurant. While earning his degree in hospitality management at Boston University, he had the opportunity to work for chef Barbara Lynch, during which time he helped open Sportello, Lynch’s modern take on casual Italian.

He spent a semester abroad at Apicius International School of Hospitality in Florence where he developed a deeper appreciation for seasonal ingredients and regional cooking. After graduation, Arnoff spent time as a line cook in two Four Seasons Hotel restaurants – first at the Four Seasons Boston, and then at Michael Mina Bourbon Steak in Washington, D.C.

While in D.C., he began planning his first business, a macaroni and cheese food truck. He opened CapMac, one of the first food trucks on the D.C. food truck scene, in Nov. 2010. His mac and cheese creations received rave reviews and CapMac soon became a D.C. institution.

After three-and-half years in business Arnoff sold CapMac with an eye on returning to the Hudson Valley. Opened in August 2015, Kitchen Sink Food & Drink serves up “feel-good food” in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
